Wellington City Council

Mark Flynn

for Northern General Ward

ACT Local has selected Mark Flynn — an experienced IT professional and long-time Tawa resident, as its candidate for the Takapu/Northern General Ward of the Wellington City Council.

With over two decades living in the ward and a career spanning both the private and public sectors, Mark brings a rare mix of technical knowledge, real-world business understanding, and community insight. He knows how systems should work, and what happens when they don’t. As a husband and father of two, he’s felt the sting of rising rates and the frustration of basic services falling apart.

Mark is standing to bring performance, accountability, and fiscal sanity back to council decision-making.

“Wellington City Council has lost the plot. We’ve had double-digit rate hikes, but the pipes are still bursting, the roads are falling apart, and no one’s being held accountable. I’m standing with ACT to be a voice for ratepayers. We need to get back to basics, cap rates to inflation, and fix what’s broken — before asking residents for another cent.” – Mark Flynn
