Stuart Hylton
for Cambridge Ward
ACT Local has selected Stuart Hylton a seasoned Technical Director with over 20 years of experience delivering major infrastructure and transformation programmes across New Zealand, Australia, and the UK, as its candidate for the Cambridge Ward in the upcoming Waipā District Council election.
Stuart has lived in Cambridge since 2009, raising two children locally and actively engaging in the town’s vibrant community through schools, sport, and neighbourhood life. With a strong professional background and a deep connection to the area, he is standing to bring common sense, local insight, and real-world experience back into council decision-making.
“I’m standing to bring focus, accountability, and fairness back to Waipā. Ratepayers deserve a council that respects their money, delivers the basics well, and plans smartly for the future. I’ll push back on wasteful spending to help keep Waipā a great place to live, work, and raise a family.” - Stuart Hylton

When you vote ACT Local,
you know what you're getting:
Delivering essential infrastructure
by prioritising Cambridge's core services such as our pipes, roads, and public facilities.
Helping the cost of living
by stopping the cycle of unsustainable rates hikes (30% over the last 2 years), bringing back financial responsibility and putting more money back in ratepayers' wallets.
Unblocking Cambridge
by ending the war on cars, removing needless congestion, and increasing community accessibility to public facilities and local businesses.
Growing the local economy
by cutting out red tape and council bureaucracy and actually getting things done for the people of Cambridge – such as the long overdue third bridge.
Restoring accountability and value for money
from Council by scrutinising spending and performance, and protecting ratepayers from spiralling costs, particularly through our water services, which take up over a third of Waipā's rates.
